I really love filipino street foods. Listed below are the top 10 that every filipino knows and loves to eat when it comes to street foods here in the philippines.

1. Kamote-cue is sweet potato that's coated with brown sugar and deep-fried in oil; several large pieces are served on a thin bamboo skewer.

2. Banana-cue is saba (a fat cooking variety of banana) that's coated with brown sugar and deep-fried in oil; one large one or two small bananas are served on a skewer.

3. Kwek-Kwek are hard-boiled quail eggs coated with batter and then deep-fried. Tokneneng is the term when chicken eggs are used. Kwek kwek is almost the same street food compared to Tokneneng but quail eggs are used instead of chicken eggs.

4. Fish balls are round, airy fish-flavored dough deep-fried in oil and then skewered on a stick; various dipping sauces are provided. Squid balls and chicken balls are recent variations.

5. Adidas are grilled chicken feet on skewers; named after the three stripes in the German shoe company's logo. When someone hands you Adidas as a food, don’t be surprise to see sticks of chicken feet.

6. Walkmen are pork ears that so tender that Filipinos made it a street food to hit the local eating scene, in streets. It is dubbed as Walkman as it means ears of the pig. These tender ears are cleaned, seasoned then grilled in bamboo sticks.

7. Turon is banana wrapped like a spring roll and deep fried; jackfruit is sometimes included in the filling. his somewhat resembles banana spring rolls. These are also known as banana fritters.

8. Betamax is chicken or pig's blood that's dried and roasted; served cut into small cubes. Betamax is the term for dried chicken blood served and cut into small cubes resembling the aged Betamax tape. Betamax is served in barbeque sticks which are grilled until cooked.

9. Taho is a drink made from soft bean curd sweetened with caramel syrup.. You can spot a taho vendor from afar carrying two large metal cans suspended on a stick over his shoulder.

10. Iskrambol is a sweet, slushy milk-based drink that's a favorite of Filpino children. There's always an iskrambol vendor near elementary schools.

I was scanning my photos in my computer folder awhile ago and i saw my emo pics there. It was shot by my bf through ym. LOL. But i wondered when do the term started? What was its origin?

Emo is a style of rock music usually characterized by a melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid-1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington D.C. where it was known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" and pioneered by bands such as Embrace and Rites of Spring. As the style was echoed by contemporary American punk bands, its sound and meaning shifted and changed, blending with pop punk and indie rock and encapsulated in the early 1990s by groups such as Jawbreak and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the mid 1990s numerous emo acts emerged from the Midwestern and Central Indie States and several independent record labels began to specialize in the style. Well, with that, i already knew when and how it started. =D

Yesterday, we celebrated mother's day and presented special gifts to them. My family and I went out for lunch and dinner in the mall. As we passed through the cinema, i saw a poster of "Ice Age 3: The Dawn of the Dinosaurs" which will be in movie theaters this coming July. I really loved this 3D animated movie. One of the known character here is Manfred, the mammoth. Manfred has a strong belief that every animal must only have a relationship with one other animal for providing they live together. "If you find a mate in life, you should be loyal", Manfred said in the movie. (I hope guys do the same, LOL!) Anyways, with his loyal attitude toward his partner, i wondered and asked, do all mammoths were really like Manfred? Next is Sid, the Sloth. Sid is first exposed as fast asleep while all other animals move around a warmer climate. He was left behind by his of family because they considered him as an annoyance. However, when Sid met the other characters, the friendship was built due to his jolly and understanding attitude. Sid is the talkative type, yet suffers from lateral lisp that makes his "S's" and "C's" spitty! Diego, the Smilodon. Diego is among the saber-toothed, brave, and frightened animal in the continent. However, Diego reasumes his role in the third film (as what i have read in the movie preview and he thinks he's been cared more like a kitty and would like to be respected like any smilodon would be. Scrat, my favorite fictional saber-toothed squirrel. He never interrelates with the characters except where he hits Sid for saving his life. Acorns is his favorite food and the cause of the continental drift. I just like his face. That's all. He make me smile haha.. The Ice Age sequels, for me, is a simple and great movie in a way that it reminds people about the ancient/prehistoric animals and how they lived their lives in the past. That's the reason why ICE AGE is one of my favorite movies and I just can't wait for it to be in the movie theaters soon. =D P.S. Thanks to the mall where i saw the poster!!!! hehe

Teaching children is not as easy as 123. You must exert time and effort. From studying your lessons for them and teaching them. Last week, we had our 3-day VBS. Actually, VBS is held every summer. I was one of the teachers. The VBS theme was "Wild wild West". This talks about the way Jesus lives long before, the stories of the great men in the Bible, and the good values that these characters shared based to their life's experiences and most of all the "SALVATION."

Teacher Nanette and I was assigned to those children ages from 9-12 years old. We called them the JUNIORS' CLASS. We had 27 students in our class and almost 300 children all in all. My hope is that these children will keep the lessons we shared to them in their hearts and apply it throughout their lives.

I wonder how strawberry filled cake are baked? As i searched throughout the net for sweet delicacies, i found STRAWBERRY FILLED CAKE and i am thinking that its very delicious and the bad news is i am craving for it right now!! waaaaahhh!!!! Below is the direction on how to bake this one.

1 food cake mix 1 (10 oz.) box frozen strawberries 1 sm. pkg. strawberry gelatin 1 pt. whipping cream

Bake cake according to package directions; cool. Heat strawberries in saucepan over low heat; add strawberry gelatin. Stir until dissolved. Chill until partially set. Whip cream until stiff peaks form. Beat gelatin mixture into whipped cream gradually. Cut 1 inch layer crosswise from top of cake. Remove center of cake, leaving 1 inch wall around cake. Fill cake with whipped cream mixture, reserving 1 cup for frosting. Return 1 inch layer to top of cake. Frost cake with reserved whipped cream mixture. Chill for 2 hours before serving. April 30, 2008 -- when i met a guy in a chatroom. This guy taught me a lot of things in which he didn't even know. Here's the list of the FIRST THINGS that this guy taught, gave, sang, ask, etc.

FIRST... *guy whom i spent most of my time -- almost 16 hours a day, we have our headset on even if we sleep *romantic "statement purposal" to be his girl -- "if you allow me, can i take the journey with you?" *song he sang -- Gugmang Gi-atay by the Ambassadors (a bisaya song that made me laugh but it was romantic though) *music video he made -- How do i breathe by Mario *romantic "wedding proposal" -- "would you walk down the isle for me?" *song i sang to him that i made him teary-eyed -- First Believed by Hoku *action he did that i giggled -- when i heard him snore over the phone while im still talking *tagalog music video he made -- Magkita na tayo (video that made me and all my friends smile) *gift he gave to me -- Garfield stuff toy and balloons (actually he was the first guy who gave a gift to me even though he's far. his effort is what matters most, really!!) *christmas i spent with him -- i was in front of my computer talking with him (12:01 am, Dec. 25, '08) *gift i gave to him -- 4 boxer shorts, a cap, a wallet and 4 pictures of mine. (i packed these for him and his cousin who went to California was the one who brought the gift)*flowers i received from a guy -- the gift that i ever wished in my entire life and now, it came true. *family and relatives -- what i mean the family and relatives whom i spend so much time together partying even though he is away from me. * boyfriend -- whom i spend one year of happiness (not to mention the fights we had and the attempted break ups LOL) These are the FIRST THINGS that he did to me and the things that are very significant to our relationship. Now, i would like to thank Phaphang for all these wonderful things and moments he did. I cherish all these treasures and im wishing more years for both of us phang. i love you with all my heart and with you i will spend my whole life. See you soon and happy 1st anniversary to both of us. =D
