The Earth Hour 2009

Earth Hour is a yearly worldwide event formed by the World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife fund or the WWF , held last year around March. This is the campaign that requests households as well as businesses to turn off lights and electrical appliances for just 60 minutes or one hour to raise awareness with regards to the need of an action on climate change.

The Earth Hour 2009 will start from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time, tomorrow, March 28, Saturday. In present, there are 82 countries and over 2100 cities will join the 'Earth Hour 2009', a big increase from individuals cooperating in 35 countries for Earth Hour 2008.
Based on the survey made by the WWF, with the campaign of the Earth Hour 2008, there was a decreased in electricity usage by 70-80 megawatts. Now, Earth Hour 2009 aims to have a decreased in electricity usage of 100 megawatts.
So, we, as part of the mother nature, we are able to help the campaign successful by turning off our lights tomorrow evening. It's not a big deal to turn off our lights for one hour, just one hour and it would give a big help to our mother nature. So, why not join? aja!
